Downgrade 64 --> 32 bit Domino

Hello,

could anybody please give me information, if it is possible downgrading Domino 8.0.1 from 64 to 32 bit?

Thank you in advance

Yes. It is possible. Have done that in the past with 8.0.1. Basically you can just reinstall the server with 32bit and then you need to do exactly the steps described in the documentation when you switch from 32bit to 64bit, but in reverse order. Most important is the viewindex and fulltext part. You need to recreate them on the downgraded databases.

Can I ask why you are downgrading?

We will introduce 3rd party software (Disclaimer) soon, only running on Domino 32 bit at the moment.By the way:

I tried an update (8.0.1 64 bit → 8.0.2 32 bit) with error message. Opened a ticket at IBM.

Update? With the installer? I don’t think you can do that.

What you can do is completely wipe the 64 bit executables and then install 32 bit and then move/copy data from 64 bit into the 32 bit data directory and then remove and rebuild all full text indices and remove or rebuild all view indices.

But I don’t think that the stock installer allows you to upgrade from 8.0.1 64 bit to 8.0.2 32 bit.
