Domino Web Access Warning

I just upgraded my 654 Domino server to R7 (on Win2003). iNotes worked perfectly before. Since the upgrade, all iNotes users receive the “Domino Web Access Warning. Sorry, we were unable to process your request at this time. If you are unable to continue working in your mail file, please dismiss this warning and then select View, Refresh from your browser’s menu.” They can click OK and access their mail file without further problem but it’s very annoying. I’ve disabled popup blockers, restarted HTTP, cleared IE cache, history and cookies. I’ve received the error from Win2k SP4 with IE6 and WinXP Pro Sp1a. Please help! Thanks!

Subject: Domino Web Access Warning

I believe that this was covered in the Known Issues portion of the release notes. Does this help…from the release notes:

In Internet Explorer, users who are not using SSL connections to access their Domino Web Access mail database receive an “Error encountered retrieving data” message when trying to access their Inbox. An updated urlmon.dll fixes this problem. Customers can call Microsoft support free of charge to receive the fix (Microsoft Support) prior to it’s inclusion within a cumulative update for IE. It will be queued up for inclusions within the next cumulative update for IE (anticipated to be May 2004).

Other workarounds include:

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Security, make sure the option “Do not save encrypted pages to disk” is unchecked.

Disable GZIP compression.

I’m not running IE6 SP1 which this update requires, I’m on IE6. I’m using SSL on the iNotes site as well, not http. I don’t have the encrypted pages option checked either. Where do I disable GZIP compression?

Subject: re: gzip…config doc for DWA…

IN the config doc for DWA in the NAB, do the following:

field:

*Compress HTTP response data

Value:

*Enable (default) to turn on GZIP compression.

*Disable if the browser used does not support GZIP compression.

Did that, still no change. I still get the error message.

Hi,

Try to open a db from a user who has the problem and replace the design of the database. I have seen a few cases where this worked. if, consider the convert task!?

Have done that several times. All users experience this.

After some investigating and tinkering, I fixed the problem. User profiles were disabled in the webmailredirect.nsf database. Once I enabled them, all iNotes users were able to access their mail files without the warning message. Thanks to all for your help.

I don’t see the setting for user profiles. Can you point us to the setting?

I also Upgraded from 6.5.4 to 7.0 in my testing environment and encountered the same problem.

Open the mailredirect database and hit setup and then go to UI Setup and at the bottom is the Enable personal options?..It was on no as default so I clicked yes and saved and close and restarted http task and hey presto I logged on without the error…pheeew!

Cheers!

Subject: Domino Web Access Warning RESOLVED - ANOTHER WAY

I solved the problem deleting the domino web access redirect database and recreating a new one.

Probably there was something in the profile documents.

I still one case in witch I receive the error. It is when a user try to open a ToDo created with the mobile phone and syncronize with Lotus Notes. Trying to see them in the welcome page of Domino Web Access 7 generate the error. With 6.5.x there was non problem.
