Domino V12 System requirements

question on system requirements given on tge product system requiremnets site.

From internetm I see CentOS 7, 8 are aready EOL as of June 30, 2024 as per the Official link- https://www.redhat.com/en/topics/linux/centos-linux-eol#:~:text=Hat%20Enterprise%20Linux%3F-,Overview,)%20on%20June%2030%2C%202024.

But, as per the link https://support.hcl-software.com/csm?id=kb_article&sysparm_article=KB0101447

HCL supports Domin V12 on CentOS 7,

Currently, we are running on:- CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009 (Core)

OS my question is :- is CentOS still supported for Domino V12?

Since CentOS, no longer provides updates/patches - is AlmaLinux 9 or Ubuntu 2022 supported for Domino V12?

Hi Raj,

Please see the answers to the two questions below:

Question 1: Is CentOS still supported for Domino V12?

Answer: If the issue is related to Domino, we can still support it. However, if the issue is related to CentOS itself, we may encounter limitations since CentOS no longer provides updates or patches.

Question 2: Since CentOS, no longer provides updates/patches, is AlmaLinux 9 or Ubuntu 2022 supported for Domino V12?

Answer: To determine support for AlmaLinux 9 or Ubuntu 2022, we need to check the kernel and package versions of these operating systems. According to the system requirements for Domino, support is based on the equivalent kernel and package versions of the OS. You can refer to the relevant article on system requirements for details on the supported equivalent OS.

Thank you!

Kaycery

Raj, Domino 12.0.2 was developed and released on November 17, 2022. During that time, these were supported OS, hence the product system requirement shows it is supported on CentOS. Later, Red Hat announced the EOL of CentOS 7 and 8.

Refer the release note of Notes/Domino 1202 from the below link.

https://support.hcl-software.com/csm?id=kb_article&sysparm_article=KB0106491

You could use other equivalent version of Linux OS which has following kernel/packages:

7.5:

kernel 3.10.0-693 x86_64 or higher 3.x kernel
glibc 2.17-222 x86_64 or higher
libstdc++-4.8.5-28 x86_64 or higher

8.0:

kernel 4.18 x86_64 or higher 4.x kernel
glibc 2.28 x86_64 or higher
libstdc++-8.2.1 x86_64 or higher

9.0:

kernel-5.14 x86_64 or higher 5.14 kernel
glibc-2.34-28 x86_64 or higher
libstdc++-11.2.1 x86_64 or higher

This has been documented in the system requirement which you have referred.

It is not advised to run an application on the OS where you know you can't get the updates because of EOL. Updates on the OS are important as it covers latest security fixes along with other fixes.

Thank you

Sur sir
Noted. All it matters is kernel/package versions.

Hi Raju,

You may refer to this link below for other Linux distributions that Domino supports.
https://opensource.hcltechsw.com/domino-linux/

Please note that HCL have not officially tested running Domino on these mentioned Linux flavors, which is why it was not included in the system requirements.

Please check each sublink for the specific OS for further details as well.
