Domino for Outlook access in a hosted organization

Hello All,

I have a user, John Smith, that exists in two separate organizations on the same server, “CompanyA” and “CompanyB”. The companies are within a hosted environment, and the server is within the name “MyCompany”.

I am trying to set up Domino Access for Outlook to connect to either CompanyA or CompanyB (or both), but I receive the error that the user cannot be found. If John uses Domino Web Access, he can access his accounts by using http://webmail.companya.com and http://webmail.companyb.com - same login and same password for both accounts without any problems.

I am pretty certain the problem is occurring because DAO cannot recognize which John Smith account should be accessed, I have tried “John Smith”, “John Smith/CompanyA” (and B), “John.Smith@companya.com”, and two different short names for each company (jsmith for one company and johns for the other) - no success. The ID’s are different, so that should not be a problem…

Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution? I want to check-in before opening a issue with IBM support.

Thank you.

Subject: Domino for Outlook access in a hosted organization

We use Domino Access for Outlook with hosted organizations without a problem.

Here are some settings you can add to the Notes.ini file in the DominoForOutlook folder to assist with troubleshooting:

REPL_PST_DEBUG=1

CONSOLE_LOG_ENABLED=1

These settings create log files (in the IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT folder which is a sub-folder of DominoForOutlook) which you can review to troubleshoot.

Another setting you can also add if you’re having trouble with synchronization is:

REPL_PST_FORCE_SUBMIT=1

This forces a full replication to be done upon each synch.
