Domino Clustering

Hi,

What is the recommendation for Domino clustering (application clustering) ? I know OS clustering is not required, but if I also implement the OS clustering together with Domino clustering.

What is the impact / cost / benefits when implementing both ?

Thanks.

That PDF is not really make your life easier. When we want to create Domino Cluster, both for mail and application, our vendor told us some disadvantages by having a cluster:

  • OOO will not work when failover. (then, no solution)

  • You will also have big headache thinking about agent failover in your application database. (also no solution)

  • Replication disobey quota does not work. (again, no solution)

At the end, now our cluster application server is just running on background, replicate with primary server, but restricted for user to access. (useless isn’t it? what a waste of money having new cluster server but never been used)

And for mail server, we have error message about replication mailbox user failed because exceeding quota.

When failover happened, we have error message about OOO error message.

Cheers,

Ivan

As for quotas, you can use CLREPL_OVERRIDE_QUOTAS=1. See technote 1179836.
