Domino Blog Template

I have installed a Domino 9.0 server as a test, and set up a Blog using the Domino Blog (9) template. It looks exactly the same as it did on Domino 8.5, and with the same problem, at least for me.

I set up the blog in Notes, gave myself the [admin], [webadmin], and [webcompose] roles, and created a new topic from the Admin area in a browser. In all browsers I can add a title and edit tags, and post the topic.

In Chrome (version 25 on Windows 7 64-bit), I see Entry with no way to enter anything below it in the post body.

In IE9, I see Entry, with a rich-text editor window below 1 character high, and no way to get a cursor or to type within the window. If I open an existing entry, I see an editor window with a ‘Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage’ error message in it, and no way to see or edit the post body.

In Firefox (19.0.2) I get a one character high rich-text editor window, with no cursor, but I can type in the box and enlarge it, so this sort of works.

I also uploaded a file, but there seems to be no way to select it in the post, so not much use there.

Is this the best IBM can do? Or am I missing some key piece of information on configuring this database? And still no XPages version of this template? Am I wasting my time here?

I was reluctant to try XBlog as there is an unanswered question about Upgrade Pack 1 from September, 6 months ago. I have the same issue, I run Upgrade Pack 1, and the template seems to rely on the Extension Library from OpenNTF. I would rather stay with IBM code if possible.

I guess maybe its roll-your-own time.

I think we only got a new icon in that template. As for me I even can’t get to the web admin view, get Item not found exception in the web.

Have you tried XBlog? OpenNTF.org - The Open Source Community for Collaboration Solutions http://www.openntf.org/internal/home.nsf/project.xsp?action=openDocument&name=XBlog
