Hi all, got the following problem:
Installing Domino 8.5 on a freshly installed Windows 2008 core doesn’t want to start as
a service. When starting as a ‘normal’ application the Domino is running smooth.
But when trying to run it as a service, Domino starts and within a second it stops.
Anyone got a solution for this? IBM?
Regards,
Ronald

You should go ahead and open a PMR for this issue, as it will be difficult to resolve through the forum.
Subject: What is response from IBM?
I have the same problem. Did you get answer from IBM?
Subject: my solution
I solved it by entering controller’s IP address despite I have no partition server but single server.

Subject: Works for me, too
Thanks for your hint. I confirm the problem is still present in domino 8.5.3 and windows 2008 R2. I have only one NIC and I solved.

Subject: works
Works for me…moved a Domino Server 8.5.3 on Windows server 2003 (32bit) to a Windows server 2008R2 (64bit)
added those 2 ini settings:
TCPIP_TcpIpAddress=0,8.55.128.173:1352
TCPIP_ControllerTcpIpAddress=8.55.128.173:2052
done.
So it seems not to be fixed in the version 8.5.3

You may want to evaluate the following. Windows Server 2008 is fully supported now so if you have any issues you can also open up a PMR and support will help.

Subject: Data?
Is the server crashing? If so, check for the associated NSD in the IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT directory. If there’s no NSD, what is in the log file?

There are no logs, cause the Domino server is starting as a service but within half a second it’s stopped
