We were going to install ‘Domino8.5 FixPack 1’. In the meantime I heard that Domino 8.5.1 is going to be available by end of September. Shall I wait for it?Another question… will Domino 8.5.1 include FixPack 1 enhancements?

Depending on the number of servers you have to upgrade I think may play into it… Also depending on what release you are upgrading from and what new 8.5 features you want to start taking advantage of… Going from 6.x or 7.x to 8.5FP1 and possibly upgrading your databases to ODS51 will be a substantial amount of work you can begin on today… Sooner you get to 8.5FP1 the sooner you can start using IDVAULT and DAOS for example. Going from 8.5FP1 to 8.5.1 will be really easy…

This Forum is filled with posts about how 8.5.1 will be out in a few months, many with “hard” dates like “end of September”. I applaud Lotus for waiting to make sure it works right, but figured it’s just as well to have FP1 now rather than wait for a perceived unknown quantity of time for 8.5.1.
