Domino 6 on Redhat 8

I have installed Domino 6 on Redhat 8 and every time I try and replicate a large db from a R5 server one of the following happens ;-

  1. The network daemon crashes and requires restarting

  2. The Domino Server crashes and a complete reboot is required.

Originally I assumed that the problem only occurred during replication but when I attempted to move large files across the network to this particular redhat server including :-

a. Notes replication

b. SMB

c. SSH

d. Restore from backup across a network

the network daemon crashed.

I have installed an exact redhat installation without a Lotus Domino installation and moving large files across the network is not a problem so it would appear that Domino is the instigating factor.

As a matter of course I attempted to install Domino 6 on a redhat Linux 7.2 server and exactly the same occurred.

Any thoughts ???

Have you read the “Lotus Domino 6 for Linux” redbook? As the title suggests, it has step-by-step instructions for installing Domino 6 on RedHat 7.2 (and SUSE 8.0). Not sure if it will help your situation, but I found it to be very helpful, both for initial installation, and administration.
