I am having some problems with a Domino Server. I have bought a new IBM server, Dual Xeon 3Ghz with 4gb ram, mirrored 10Krpm SAS hard drives. Domino is the only thing running on the server.
The problem I have is the client(s) seem to “hang” while the server builds views for the first time ect… sometimes this can take about 15 minutes, or the client(s) notice that just tabbing through the fields on the screen is extremly slow.
I check out the stats on the server and windows 2000 server reports about 1.2GB memory used and about 3% cpu used. It is almost as if Domino isn’t utilising the server anywhere near it’s potential??
I’ve tried increasing SERVER_MAX_CONCURRENT_TRANS and SERVER_POOL_TASKS as well as adding a NSF_BUFFER_POOL_SIZE and a VIEW_REBUILD_DIR without succes?
Doing a sh server while idle shows;
Transactions: 10184 Maq. concurrent: 700
ThreadPool Threads: 100
Under load it shows pretty much the same thing but the Availability Index hits 0…
Can anyone help me? I’m beginning to pull out my hair with this…
