Domino 6.0.x to 8.0.x upgrade

Hi all,

I have a Domino 6.0.2 installation which has been running for a number of years with minimal problems. We’re now looking at upgrading to 8.0.1 and cannot find a suitable upgrade path.

I’ve read the Deployment Guide for 8.0 which explains the process from 6.5 upwards, but there is no mention of 6.0.x. (I realise this is because 6.0 is no longer supported).

Does anybody know if there is a working ugrade path from 6.0.2 up to 8.0.1, or will it be necessary to install an intermediate step (e.g. 6.5).

If anybody has ideas or practice in doing this, I’m open to suggestions.

Is 6.0 - 6.5 difficult? Could I just do this on the server, then upgrade everbody’s clients manually from 6.0 straight to 8.0?

Thanks,

Jeff.

Subject: Domino upgradation from domino 6 to domino 8.0.1

U can directly upgrade from Domino 6 to Domino 8.0.1. but first do it in a test environment. and make a documentation of what will u do if the upgrade fails. and also u will hav to take many things into account such as if this upgradation is on linux platform or AIX, then u wil have to be very carefull about the backup and also u will have to have good handson exp of the platform. Take care in the case of AIX.

Do let me know if u have ny queries.

Regards.
