Domain Indexer causing server crash

I am using the domain indexer to index a file system. A few minutes after the server starts, the indexer kicks in and reports in the log that it is indexing the file system. I can see network activity, and about 10% of the CPU is being used by the indexer. After exactly 10 minutes, the server crashes with no entry in the log.

I am running 7.01 FP1 on the server (I’ll upgrade to 7.02, but there is no entry for domain indexer in the fixpack list). I’ve tried deleting the old indexes (load domidx -d), but it hasn’t made any difference.

The file system is quite large, but I’m hoping that is not the issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Anyone seen the same problem?

Subject: SOLUTION: Domain Indexer causing server crash

In case anyone runs into this, the problem was caused by some WordPerfect files that were on the file system being indexed - the filter used by the indexer was choking on the particular files. The problem was resolved in 7.0.3.
