Does LDD no longer test Domino builds?

In the past Lotus has always used Notes.Net (LDD) to test builds for upcoming maintenance releases of Domino. At the moment this web site is still running 6.0 and not 6.01. I know IBM reorganized everything but why abandon such a great resource for testing builds of Domino? Load testing, clustering, etc. We always liked to see what build Lotus was working on. I think we all had a better end-product that way. Cheers.

We’ve been using our pre-release builds internally – on our mail servers, for instance. It is indeed a good way to test them. I don’t know whether any LDD servers had that, though.

Subject: We still test early Domino builds

Typically with maintenance releases such as 6.0.1 we put those early builds on two or three of our site servers, rather than on the entire cluster. Now that 6.0.1 is gold we will be upgrading all the servers to 6.0.1. And then we’ll start testing the 6.0.2 builds on two or three servers.

The Domino release you see when you “View Source” depends upon which server in the cluster you are directed to when you visit.

Subject: May well be correct.

But don’t forget that this site runs on multiple server platforms and multiple versions at the same time.

It’s possible you were directed to a server that wasn’t upgraded.
