We have a new application ready to roll out that allows users to search selected databases. The pertinent script agent running on the Notes Client finds the default view for each selected database, does an FTSearch using the user’s search string, grabs all the column titles/values, and presents the results in a richtext field. Some databases to be search may be FTIndexed; some not. Most databases have replicas on many servers worldwide, but the user is pretty much restricted to searching replicas on his/her regional application server. Still, the question is: Will rolling out this application adversely impact our network traffic and to what extent?
