Subject: Does Domino work on hyperthreaded machine?
I have been running R5 and later ND6.5.x on IBM xSeries 235 (8671-4AX) for several years. This xSeries model comes with one physical CPU which is an Intel Xeon 2.4GHz with HT. I have had NO problems with any of these releases for which I could blame the CPU. At the same time, I do not know whether Domino would perform better or worse without HT or whether it takes advantage of HT at all.

I’ve been running my Domino servers on multicore systems for a while now (HT Xeons in the 2.0GHz range) without any problems. I haven’t had the resources to do a full performance test to see how much HT on or off affects capacity.
I haven’t seen any technotes from IBM/Lotus about it. There’s a notice out there somewhere about how per-CPU licenses count physical CPUs and not individual cores on a CPU. That’s all I’ve been able to find so far.

Hi,
I remember a technote saying that HT requires extra licenses. HT = 2 CPUs.
