Does anyone know when 64bit notes api will be fully 64bit?

Right now it is required to use Intel Compiler to compile 64bit applications for Lotus Domino and use linker switch DHANDLE_IS_32BITS because handles are still 32bit. I would imagine that when special switches like this are not needed we can then compile with Microsoft Visual Studio again.

Does anyone know when these switches will no longer be required and when compiling with Microsoft Visual Studio will be okay again?

Thank you

Hi!

Is there anything new on this topic? It would be nice to be able to use Visual Studio.

Subject: you can use VS

I use Visual Studio even though it is not the recommended compiler by IBM. I use DHANDLE and that same switch i mentioned in this post in the compiler options and it works for me. We had a problem with the handles and after these settings the problem went away so I figure VS still works really well if used that way. Which version of Visual Studio are you using? I am using 2010. If you are using the same I can create a small sample project that has the 32bit and 64bit settings that we use. I also have a document I can send you. Just pop me your email or temporary email address and I will get those to you. I am not on these boards all the time but I will try to check back for a while to see if you have provided this. If so I will send. If I do not hear back from you right away then I will get to it eventually…
