Does a "When document has been created ..." agent run when a backend document has been created?

I have an action button that creates a backend document. I also have a “When document has been created or modified” agent.

The agent does not seem to run when a backend document is created, only when a UI document is created or modified.

Should the agent run when the backend document has been created?

Bruce,

I am trying to envision your situation here…do you have one agent that creates a document on a schedule or complete without UI interaction and then you want another agent to run with that trigger? In my experience, that won’t work, because I don’t think creating documents via an agent executes an agent trigger like that. You’d have to check with the people at IBM though to be sure…

A document can no longer be edited by the creator because it is in the process of being approved. The creator can press a button on the form for this document. This button creates a “reset request” document (NotesDocument via LS).

An agent runs and reads these “reset documents” that were created when the user presses the button. The agent grants author access back to the creator and resets the workflow.

It seems that the agent is not kicking off when the backend document is created via the button press.
