Document has been Modified or Corrupted Since Signed! (data)

I had this problem where the message “Document has been Modified orCorrupted Since Signed! (data)” keeps popping up on opening of a document

that has been created/modified using certain forms. My theory is that it is

a result of compatibility issues with the storage of controlled-access

sections and signed field design elements in the migration from Notes 5 to

Notes 6. Databases and Forms that were created in Notes 5 and subsequently

used in Notes 6 could have defective signed fields of controlled-access

sections that corrupts the signature of documents when saved in Notes 6.

I took the following actions in Notes 6 Designer and rid myself of this

problem.

  1. Determine the controlled-access section in the form with the problem.

  2. Remove the controlled-access section and then recreate it. Save the

document and test it to see if the corrupted error message still pops up.

If the problem still occurs, proceed with step 3.

  1. Remove all fields that requires signing in the section and recreate them

through Notes 6 designer. Do not use cut and paste, it needs to be manually

recreated.

After taking the above actions, the message would no longer appear when

opening documents in Notes 6 - this of course would only apply to documents

that have been created with the modified form. Unfortunately, the corrupted

message continues to appear for documents that were created in Notes 6 but

open in Notes 5 (backward incompatibility issue?).

Anyway, I was just wondering if someone could verify if my theory is

correct because I couldn’t find any documentation that matches the problem

and solution I described.

Subject: Document has been Modified or Corrupted Since Signed! (data)

This issue has been documented in the technotes. You can try this query:http://www-1.ibm.com/support/search.wss?rs=475&tc=SSKTWP%2BSSKTMJ&q="Has+Been+Modified+or+Corrupted+Since+Signed"&dc=DB550+D100+D100%2BDB550+D100%2BD600%2BD700%2BDB520+D800+D900+DA900+DA800+D800%2BDB520+D900%2BDB520+DA800%2BDB520+DA900%2BDB520+DA800%2BDB540+DB400+DB400%2BDB540+DB400%2BDB530+DA600+DA600%2BDB530+DA600%2BDB510%2BDB500&dtm

Basically, to resolve the issue, you need to re-save the design element. I found that sometimes it is necessary to re-sign the whole database.
