DocLink

Hi,I’m testing an application with a doclink, when it testin locally I see my docLink in my Email, but when I’m testing it on the server, the docLink disappear.

Please what’s my problem??

Here’s the code (Mailsend with an Agent):

Sub Initialize

Dim s As New notessession

Dim db As notesdatabase

Dim memo As notesdocument

Dim webdoc As notesdocument

Set db = s.currentdatabase

Set webdoc = s.documentcontext

Set memo = New notesdocument(db)

Dim rtitem As NotesRichTextItem

Set rtitem = New NotesRichTextItem( memo, "Body" )

Call rtitem.appendtext("You have recieved a new PFRC Request. ")

Call rtitem.appendtext(" Please follow the document link below to view this document.")

Call rtitem.AppendDocLink( webdoc, "Document Link" )

memo.form = "Memo"

memo.SendTo = "ecohen@is.jgh.mcgill.ca"

memo.Importance = "1"

memo.CopyTo = "ecohen@is.jgh.mcgill.ca"

memo.Subject = "New PFRC Request"

Call memo.Send(False)

End Sub

Thanks

Eric,

You can;t keep asking the same question again and again!!!

Are you sending the server mail to another Notes user or a web user??? If it is a web user, you need to send a URL link instead of a doclink

Does your database have a default view?? Is this view accessible to all users??? Notes uses the default view to open a doclink

Mike

Yes I have a default view and I am sending the server mail to another Notes user and also accessible to all users.I’m frustrated, can’t find the problem !!

Please need help

So if you manually do a “Copy document as link” and email this doclink to the particular user, can they click on the link and open the document?

Subject: RE: DocLink

If I am doing it manually it’s working, we see the link.

As has been noted, you’ve asked this question many times and have not found an answer. I think you need to think about how you’re asking the question. I’ve noticed a solution was proposed to you and your response was “still doesn’t work.” That doesn’t mean the solution was wrong – it might just be that there was more than one thing keeping your application from working. If you don’t tell exactly how something fails, including any error or log messages, it’s hard to tell what the problem might be.

Change your application to use a Notes address rather than an internet address. Does that make it work? I think the problem may be with the way the server converts the email to internet mail. What happens with a doclink depends in part on whether the computer that does the conversion knows where to find the database that the link is to, to convert it to a URL.

If you know what the URL you want is, then instead of rich text, use the MIME classes to create your message with the exact HTML you want in it, including an link to the document.
