Do i need to down notes server before i create directory folder?

hi :

my notes dirve (d:) is running out of space. i heard directory folder and directory link can help me to move some db from the existing notes\data into another drive (e:) and folder.

so i m thinking to create a folder call “data” in my e:\

i went to the domino admin in windows, click file, folder, new,

i input the path e:\data and hit ok.

i press F9 to refresh the screen. but i dont see the new drive appear.

but when i goto check the e:\ drive. i can see the data folder there.

what would be the correct procedure to do this ?

do i need to shutdown server before creating directory folder and directory link ?

If you want to create a folder linkIn Admin-Files-New-Link-Folder

Link name: Name of the folder that should appear when u do a file database open

Path: Is the actual path of folder

No need to restart Domino for this. Make a test on local u’ll know, its pretty easy
