Display list of values while user is inputting data in a field

Hi,

I want to display list of values while user is inputing value in a field eg. I have a field called item(textfield) in order form , i want to display all the items statring with letter(s)that user is typing .

Or

what i am asking is similer to sendto field in memo form of notesmail where if u type half name of a user and press enter u get a listbox listing all the matching names from directory .

can anybody give me any Idea what code i need to write in which event of the field .

Create a field and make it of type Dialog list/Editable. On the ‘Control’ tab in the field properties, select ‘Enter choices (one per line)’ and type in the choices. Make sure the ‘display entry helper button’ checkbox is ticked.

I think this will work for you. You can also tick the checkbox ‘Allow values not in list’ if you want the user to be able to add a new choice for the field.
