Disabling SmartUpgrade

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if there is a local setting or something where I could disable the smartupgrade all together. I no you can use policies to set on a per user basis, but I want to make sure that one specific client is never upgraded. Does deleting the local smupdate.exe & sminstall.exe do the trick? We are using Notes withing a Citrix environment and we cannot have that client automatically updated. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

Your users can only use Smart Update if you configure it. If you don’t put a Smart Upgrade database on the home/mailserver, the users won’t be able to use the feature. You can also choose to configure and enable Smart Upgrade, but only allow certain users to use the kits available. This can be done on the Smart Upgrade kit document, on the field “Allowed users”.
