Disable Prompt for Replicate/Sync when Notes Shuts Down

I am trying to use policies to replicate users machines upon shutdown but users do not want to be prompted for this.

It appears the desktop policy forces the prompt with the setting to Replicate/Sync upon shut down under "Preferences/Replication “Replicate when the user shuts down the client:”.

In preferences there are Replication and Sync settings which include “Other Triggers” where this is a box where deselecting prompt me. Unchecking this box works however I cant find out how to set this in a policy. Is this possible? Subject: also loooking for a solution

Hi,

i’m also looking for a solution to this issue. I found something related here:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1LO54973

I would really like to suppress the prompt for replication on shutdown with a policy while forcing the client to replicate in any case.

Did you ever find a solution for this? It seems that I’m even unable to find the right place where the notes client saves this setting. One thing I know is that this setting will not replicate if you are dealing with a roaming enabled user, so it’s probably not contained in any of the roaming-databases. The notes.ini doesn’t seem to be the right place either… Any idea on this?

Subject: It is possible with a little modification

In the design of the policy desktop settings document. You can find the field to set the replication on startup and shutdown. If you inspect it you also see the fields necessary to set the prompt. For startup you can switch it but for the shutdown it is configured as a calculated field with the same value of the switch if you want to replicate at shutdown or not.

You can set the fields exactly as the replication at start up.

Now you can set the parameter in the desktop setting.

One problem… this replication at shut down shows the replication tab. If you have the (default) setting to open all tabs at startup when you shut down, you will always get the replication tab opened at startup.

If someone has a solution for that issue I would be obliged.

Peter
