Disable NSD

Hi , I hve upgraded from Domino 5.0.12 to Domino 6.0.2CF2.

Earlier with Domino 5.0.12 on some misconfiguration. On accessing a URL, I used to get the error “Error: The Web Server did not initialize properly.”

But with Domino 6.02CF2 under the same scenario Domino crashes and an NSD is generated.

  1. Is there a way to achieve the same functionality as Domino 5.0.12

  2. Can the NSD be disabled

Please suggest

Starting in 6.0.3 and 6.5 you can disable NSD in the Server Document/Basics Tab/Fault Recovery section, but that will not prevent your crash. It will keep NSD from running after the crash and collecting information about the cause of the crash.

It sounds like a situation that used to generate a message in R5 now causes a crash in R6. You should open a customer support call on this. They will want the NSD log file.

Thanks for the response Jim.

This means here we should focus on Crash on Domino 6 (due to misconfiguration) from the Error Message in Domino 5 and not on disabling NSD.

Also does that means in Domino 6.0.2 there is no parameter to disable NSD

The ability to disable NSD is new for 6.0.3 and 6.5, it is not available in 6.0.2
