Directory Assitance

I am planning to use the active directory integration for the authentication through LDAP in directory assistance. I am doubting if I enable the directory assistance will the user again have to login to notes (if they are using web-browser) for authentication or they will authenticate with their windows login autometically.

Please help.

I’m not sure I understand the precise scenario you are describing, but possibly the “Notes Client Database Access” and “Web Client Database Access” slides of ID107: Getting Started With Active Directory Integration may shed some light.

Hi

If I understood correctly, enabling just DA wont do what you need.

If you think that enabling that would make you able to open your browser and then be automatically logged in into your Domino, then thats not the case.

Authentication is made when the user tries to log in. So you will be able to log in into Domino but to enable access to their email file you will need to modify the person document or the database file to give access to the AD user since you won’t be able to pick up the name as you would give a secondary names.
