Directory Assistance foe external LDAP

I’m trying to set up a directory assistance database for external LDAP server to authenticate web users on the external LDAP.

I have set up everything and it is working. But I cannot see the LDAP users in the Domino Directory and cannot use groups in database acl. The only thing working is user authentication.

I’ve set up a directory assistance database for the external LDAP, and created an extended directory catalog including the directory assistance database.

The ldap server is OpenLDAP on Linux.

Subject: Directory Assistance foe external LDAP

Dear Federico,

I’d like to configure an external LDAP Directory

(access to Active Directory).

But it doesn’t work :-((

I created the Directory Assistance DB w/ document,

enter db name in server document and restart the

server.

But it didn’t work :o(

Do you have any suggestion for me?

That would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Subject: I think you’re confusing LDAPs here…

Directory Assistance acts as a “gateway” to an external, 3rd-party, LDAP server, such as Active Directory.

Domino can also run it’s own LDAP server.

These two things are seperate and mostly unrelated!

When you have your Directory Assistance set up, first type “show x” to see if the Active Directory LDAP link you created is active. If it’s not, please see the docs to troubleshoot.

If it is active, then either try performing an LDAP search to your Domino server, and ask for one of the entries in the Active Directory book back, or alternatively you can do it by creating a new memo (with the test Domino server as your home server, of course) and typing in a name you know is in Active Directory and pressing F9 to look it up.

Hope this helps! =)
