Directory Assistance + ACL

Dear all,

I encounter an issue trying to set Directory Assistance for my environment.

The secondary directory is correctly published to users on Notes client (ACL are set with a group on the secondary Directory).

My first problem is : If I remove a user from the ACL and his last search was done on the secondary directory, then when the user clicks on “To” to select the directory, the error comes : “You are not authorized to access that database”, but he cannot select the primary directory instead of the secondary. So I have to give him the access back, then select the primary directory, and finally remove the access.

The second problem is : When using a mobile with Traveler, even if the ACL are set on secondary directory on the Traveler server, all users are able to see the secondary directory (Default ACL are set to “No Access”).

Subject: For Traveler

The Traveler server connects to the Domino Mail Server of the user with NRPC and with its ID so the Traveler Server does have all the rights to the Directory Assistance Database and Directories it points to…

No way to manage that you do have to add readers/authors fields on the document pointed by directory assistance to hide some people to eh traveler user. But is it worth the job?

Subject: Why are you pushing a replica of the secondary directory down to users?

The directory would reside on the server, and the Directory Assistance field on the server doc plus the Directory Assistance document for that directory tells the server to serve up name information from the additional directory. You could also use a directory catalog on the server or a condensed directory catalog that is pushed down to users, but this has become rarer in the days of greater bandwidth.

Subject: NOTES.INI entry for IBM Notes Traveler

Dear all,

there´s an entry for the NOTES.INI on the Notes Traveler Server: NTS_TRAVELER_AS_LOOKUP_SERVER=True

When you put this entry in the NOTES.INI of the Traveler Server the Traveler only does lookups on “himself”.

Could this help ?

@Jerome: Thanks for this explanation, we have finally decided to hide the secondary directory to mobile users.

@Rainer: Already tried but did not help.
