A link to Traveler v10.0.1 basic installation ?
I SERIOUSLY hope I am wrong, but my experience tells me differently: Am I the ONLY one that think that HCL Downloads (FlexNet) really sucks BIG TIME when it comes to FINDING what you are looking for ?
I am having PROBLEMS understanding how it it possible to make access to software so "not easy" when you have Notes/Domino and full text indexing "at your hand" ?
I really HOPE it's just me ? Just me not finding what I am looking for ? Just me "doing it wrong" ?
I mean - if I try searching in FlexNet it simply always comes up with error/nothing. Even when searching for just one word - like "Domino".
And when attempting to manually flip through the site, I am having great trouble finding what I'm trying to find too...
Am I the only one ?
If so - please give me hints or instructions - any kind of help :(
I want to e.g find Traveler Basic installation v10.0.1
Manually I can find all kinds of FP's - but not the basic installation.
Sometimes I also find it difficult to understand under what "category" they have stuck something ?
But perhaps I'm simply "doing it wrong" ?
I would REALLY appreciate some feedback here...not to mentions hints on how to best find what I am looking for when I am trying to find something specific...
Thank you :)
Best regards,
Stig-Erik Halvorsen
Hello Stig,
Under Downloads- Search Downloads If I search with HCL Traveller I am able to find the HCL Traveler Maintenance for 10.0.1 as below.
h
Under HCL_Traveler_10.0.1_Maintenance You will find Traveller 10.0.1 FP1 and Fp2 so you can directly install that on domino 10.0.1 server its not required to install base code for traveller this is complete traveller server pack.
Note: Now a days latest Traveler version released is Traveller 11.0 so at customer end sometimes in New version you will not be able to find Traveller 10.0.1 Fp1 and FP2.
In that case you need search in Previous version
I hope this will answer your queries .
Regards Seema
Hi Stig,
You could also use some wild characters when searching for files or packages to reduce the result list.

FYI. All traveler packages are full installs so its not necessary to start with 10.0.1 and then upgrade. Starting with 10.0.1 fp2, the packages started being hosted on HCL's flexnet. With that release, we started adding guidance on locating the specific package in the release notes. Example:
10.0.1 fp2 release notes:

How to find Traveler 10.0.1.2 using the Software License Management Portal
1. From the Downloads menu, select "Search Downloads"
2. Enter Traveler_10.0.1FP2* as the search text (be sure to include the * wildcard)
3. Show results for "Files" and press the Search button
Its true, however, that we didn't go back and add that verbage on the release notes for prior versions which are also available on flexnet.

LOL, I'm sorry but I need to make an old-timer comment here. HCL Flexnet is a walk in the park compared to IBM's Passport Advantage download site, which is where we used to download Notes/Domino from before the HCL acquisition of the product.
Since others have already commented with helpful tips, I won't do that here but just leave this comment at that. I'm truly sorry you were having trouble and I'm being honest to say I don't mean to belittle the trouble you were having, but based on my prior experience with IBM, your out-of-the-gate comment "Flexnet really sucks BIG TIME when it comes to FINDING what you are looking for" gave me a really good belly laugh. Thank you. You made my day. =)
Yeah, Flexnet almost makes me miss IBM, but not quite.
I'm another old timer, a Domino evangelist since version 4. Passport Advantage was worse I agree, but Flexnet really isn't great either, or terribly user friendly. It's certainly not up to modern standards. I kinda agree with the OP.
For example, if you want to download Nomad for example, you can't just search for that. You have to navigate page by page until you happen to find Mail-Collab-Express or something to that nature and then dig into that to find Nomad. If you don't know it's embedded in that package... then you're out of luck. I actually opened a ticket with HCL for that. Yes it's obvious now, but...it wasn't initially. That shouldn't happen in 2023.... with all the capabilities that we have now
