Designer workspace corruption? DB won't open in 8.5 B2 Designer

I’m experiencing a Designer client issue where one db will never open in the designer. I suppose I closed the child “opening…” window before it was done initially, but now, regardless of how many times I kill and restart notes designer, or reboot, it will not open that particular db in the Designer client. It will briefly display “building workspace…” in a child window (if the designer is initially opening) and then the child window will close itself and never show the database on the left navigation pane for recent applications. If I click on “Show Recent Applications” it does NOT show then either. Other databases will open in the Designer navigation pane, but only after I click on “Show Recent Applications”. I suppose there may be some designer workspace corruption.

It doesn’t matter if I right-click on the workspace icon of the db and select “Design…” or if I attempt to open the database within the Designer client.

The database does open fine in my 8.0.2 basic designer.

Subject: Yes it was - still did not display

Yes, as from my original posting, selecting SHOW RECENT APPLICATIONS made no difference. The database would not display at all until I created a new “Working Set”… even now, it will not display under “Show Recent Applications”… I must check the new Working Set in order to see the db in the navigation pane.

Subject: Same for me - searched for this post!

Exactly the same problem here. Previously had 8.0.2 installed, upgraded to 8.5b2.

Had to remove workspace icon (received error was in use, which was rubbish), close designer, close client, re-open client, open DB, open DB in designer … failed … add a new working set, chose the app (shown in the list!), and it’s now displayed.

Not too hot.

Subject: Workaround using a new Working Set

First, I deleted the database from the client workspace. This required closing the Designer first, because the client balked that the db was still open, even though it was not displayed by the Designer anywhere. There was no change in the problem after re-adding it to the client workspace.

What I ended up doing was creating a new Application “Working Set”, then I added the database from the list (yes, it did display in the list) by selecting the related checkbox. Then that db would list in the navigation pane only under that new “Working Set”…
