Designer Client hangs when saving an Agent with "run in background thread" is enabled

Domino/Notes Version: 14.5.1FP1, German
Designer Client

I encountered this problem in different databases and it is reproducible in 14.5.1FP1, 14.5.1 and 14.5.

  • I create a LotusScript agent and save it → no problem
  • Then I activate “Run in client background thread”
  • When trying to save the designer client hangs forever

In Version 14.0 the error does not occur. It seems that the newer versions somehow “suppress” the dialog that tells you, that this might not run if the agent requires UI interaction and therefor hangs:
