I am currently working on an R6 template that has been replicated from an R5 server onto our new R6 server. Because myself and another developer have been working on it at the same time, we enabled design lock. Unforunately whenever we try to access the database after design lock has been enabled in the database properties menu, we cannot open any forms in the database to edit them. Whenever I click on a form to edit it I receive the following message “Design or Data locking is only supported on a server running Domino 6 or later.” Is this because it was on an R5 server? Also is there anyway to fix this issue?
Subject: Check Admin Server in ACL
Please check if the administration server in the ACL of your database is still the R5 server. Since the admin server is also the master lock server document and design locking only works if the admin server is Domino 6 or later.

Make sure the template you are working on is a new Copy, not a replica with the same database ID.2. Make sure the template database has been upgraded to ODS 43 (use ncompact at the command line or Load Compact at the server console).
-
Check the db properties of the template. On the first tab at the bottom, check “Allow document locking”.

I would recommend a third party product, such as Team Studio’s CIAO (check-in check-out) to keep from stepping on each other’s code.
