I’ve tried to deploy several bookmarks for our databases with the desktop setting to the clients. I have create the policy and the settings document. In the settings document in generated the bookmarks on the application tab.
On the client the bookmark are generated, but with the wrong server. In the settings document I have create the bookmarks show to server A. On the client the bookmark shows to server B.
When I try to delete a bookmark and cut it in the settings document, restqart the client and the bookmark is already on the client.
Do anyone knows about the problems and have a solution or a tipp?
We are working with Version 8.5.1 (Server FP2 and Client FP3).
Thanks in advance
Axel

In your notes client you have to remove all replica server history for each client. For example…
Database.nsf with replicas on Server1, 2, and 3.
You wish to push out for server2.
You must remove the replicas from server1 and 3 on your workstation. Now add that bookmark to your policy.
- oh and it won’t remove icons either… it’s a one way push…
yah i know… dumb… but that’s what we got.
Then you will be set.
Subject: re: bookmarks
Hi Brett,
Thanks for response. I’ve done so as you described. On the client I created the setting document there was only one replica server (Server A) on the bookmarks.
When the bookmarks created on another client due the policy there was Server B enterd as the replica server.

Subject: Did you remove the client’s icons first?
I run across this everytime I push out Icons to user and this is exactly how I do it…
~ a thought… Check the icons on the old workspace UI… make sure that bookmark icons is also gone.
A clean test would be to shut down the client,
move bookmark.nsf, cache.ndk, and Desktop*.dsk
to a the desktop. Start up the client and bookmarks.nsf will be recreated. When the policy pushes down…you will see what is being pushed…
Subject: Tested with a new installed client
Hi,
I’ve tested it today in the afternoon with a new installed client. The result is the same. The replica server of the bookmarks pointed to another server that’s entered in the desktop setting.
Any other ideas?
