I have huge database (ProdPool.nsf) with 80,000 documents and 20 views. But around 60,000 documents are from 2007 and i would like to remove them from the huge database and copy it over to another database(2007Pool.nsf) for archiving purpose…
What are the best practices for this kind of thing ??
After i remove the 60,000 docs from ProdPool.nsf, should compact the issues and rebuild the views ??
Can i somebody help me out here please…
Thanks,
Durga

Why do u want to copy to a different database and then archive ? You can archive it directly and that will delete the 60,000 documents from the Production db.

Goto File → Database → Properties → Settings → Archive Settings. Its self explanatory.

I think the best way is that you have make a replica of your database and delete all document from orginal and compact.
