Deleted emails still in inbox

I have 5 emails in my inbox that I deleted in early September that simply wont get out of my in-box When I select and try to trash them I get the error " document has been deleted"

How do I resolve this?

Subject: Could be the view index.

While you are in the Trash folder hold down SHIFT and press F9. That will re-build the view index.

Failing that your admins will probably need to run some housekeeping on the mail file.
