Dead mail not visible

Hi,

On one server, although the mail.box seems empty, the property box shows 12 documents.

I have had happened in the past and the only solution I know is to delete the mail.box.

Any other solution, explanation, idea, …

Hello Jean-Pierre,

From the server’s console, you could try issuing this:

tell router compact

(This is the same maintenance that is ran by default each night at 4am)

Watch for completion within the console, example:

Router: Beginning in-place compaction of mailbox file mail.box

Router: Completed compaction of mailbox file mail.box

Other commands that will return informative information regarding your mail box are:

show stat mail

or

tell router list

Sometimes deleting mail.box with the server down, (and then starting the server) is the only way to correct unexpected behavior.
