I need to add a new column to an existing view. The column value needs to come from a different database. I tried using @DBLookup and I’m not getting an error but nothing is appearing. Is it possible to use @DBLookup in a view column formula?
Here is the column formula I used:
@DbLookup(“”;“852567D7:007118D0”;“AllAgent”;agentnumber;4);

Lisa,
No, @Db formulas cannot be used in view selection formulas, nor column formulas.

In order for you to display data in a view column, the data must be based wholly on information contained within your document.
Can you do the @Dblookup as you save the document, or in a nightly agent if it changes from day-to-day ?

Raphael - thank you for your quick response. I thought maybe the @DbLookup command was not allowed but was not sure. Thank you for letting me know for certain.

from the Notes designer help on @DbLookup and @DbColumn, look for “Usage”, you will see this:
Usage
This function does not work in column or selection formulas, or in mail agents.

No but…
You could just create a field that does that lookup in your document (even a hidden field), and then display that field in your column…
