Date field comparision in the first sorted column

Date value field(stored field) chronologically greater than the current date. To implement this, I am thinking of using @today in the column formula. I remember reading in this forum somewhere that, using date() functions could cause performance problems. Does it apply only to the view selection formulae or even the column formulae?

never mind…

I will just sort the docs in ascending order and open the view with today’s date as the Start parameter. I guess that should work.

Thanks

Using it means that every time the view is opened, EVER row needs to be recomputed. That is why it’s not recomended. (Generally, a row is only recomputed once after it’s document has been modified.)

Now if you have “few” rows in the view, this impact might be acceptable for your application.

Both…

Can you run an agent to touch each document once a day? Set a flag to display then every night (or morning) the agent would reset the flag for those that are today and greater.
