Hi All,We have upgraded to the R6 address book and are now unable to make local replicas of it onto R4 clients. The error we get is…
" Unable to store document. Database has too many unique field names."
We had this error on all replicas on the servers just after upgrading but did an ncompact -K and haven’t had the error since.
I can make a new replica of the names.nsf using an R6 and an R5 client but 90% of our users are on R4.
I’ve even tried to make a local replica using an R5 client and giving it the extension .NS4 but the same error occurs.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.
Emma.
Subject: Database has too many unique field names…
The reason you are getting this is that since R5 databases have had the Advanced Properties Tab. On this tab there is an option to “allow more fields in database”. One option might be to create a mobile directory catalog for your clients to replicate instead of the Public NAB.

Hi Paul,We have this option enabled on the server address book but as you know, it’s not available on the R4 database properties. Are you saying that it’s because it’s not available in R4 that the error is happening ?
Dagnammit.
Thanks !
Subject: Thats why Lotus recommends that you upgrade to 4.6.7a first. That is the first R4 that supports that property.

And made a new local replica of the names.nsf and still getting the same error !I also created a new database in 4.6.7a and checked the database properties and can’t see the “Allow more fields” option.
