I have encountered one problem with DAOS estimator… although this could be a Domino console issue.
Environment: Domino 8.5, Windows 2003 SP2, 32-bit edition, doasest installed in Domino directory.
Problem: Using the remote console (Domino Administrator) and running daos with an output file (load daosest -o march0320.txt) or using the remote console and running daos without an output file (load daosest)… the daos results are not published to the remote console. I spent an hour trying to figure out why daos was not running because of this. I then later noticed that my file (march0320.txt) was on the server so it ran, but the server gave me no indication of that. Oddly, when I run daosest from the actual physical server console, the console output appears as expected. Even stranger, when I run doasest from a remote console, while in view of the actual console across the room, the daos results are written to the actual console but not written to the remote console.
Yes, I am listed in the “Administrators” field on the server document and I was running the “Live” console in Domino Administrator.
If anyone can shed some light on this I’d appreciate it. I envision running daosest for many Lotus customers this year and I do not always have access to their physical domino console (using remote desktop). Is there some setting some where that dictates what results are logged to the actual console vs. the Domino Administrator remote console?
