I am running the latest trial version of Lotus Domino Access for Outlook (DAO or DAMO). The mail synchronization seems to work great and I can even create and reply to meeting requests succesfuly with users that I know are only running the native Lotus Notes.
However, the PIM syncronization (Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes) doesn’t seem to work properly. The first time I installed it and did a synchronization, it seemed to upload calendar and tasks, but not contacts. After a couple of days, contacts appeared on the Domino server, but still no Notes (Journals). So I found an option in Lotus Notes desktop to syncronize the Journal and then they all appeared. So far so good.
It doesn’t seem that any updates in Outlook are being replicated to the Domino server anymore (other than email). I added a new Note (Journal) to Outlook yesterday morning and it still hasn’t replicated. Its also not sending new contacts. I just don’t get what’s going on here other than the software is just completely buggy.
I have another horror story to tell and ask about, but for now I’d just like feedback on these basic syncronization features. I’ve got to get this working because I’ve been using Outlook forever and I just can’t bring myself to use the Lotus Notes desktop.
TIA
