We have always been using Crystal Report 8.5 and have decided to upgrade to Crystal Reports XI. Great I think…not so…When I opened one of my reports (which using 3 databases linked) and using 3 groupings and tried to run it, none of the groupings are working. I’m wondering has anyone else upgraded and are finding issues with their reports. Are there any known issues and fixes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t help you there, but it did tricker another question with me: I heard that Business Objects (Crystal) is about to end its support to Lotus Notes Reporting.Anybody out there who heard the same, can officially confirm or deny it??!

I’ve noticed the connections between the 3 databases are working but the grouping is not. It groups the first record from the main database to the other 2. For example, the Time Entry database records links to the Project Database and Technician Database. The technicians are organized based on groups and we pull back the Project Status from the Project Database. For the first person in the Time Entry, it finds the group and the project status for all the time entries for that person and groups correctly in the Crystal Report, but then the reports does not group the rest. Only does it for the first person. ODD! Any suggestions?? Thanks.

I am having the same problem on linking - and losing the information. I know that the problem is on XI and I did post out on the Crystal Page - If I hear back I will let you know.
On the subject of Crystal dropping Notes connectivity ?? I have heard from their point that Notes is going away, therefore they will not support something that will not be there. Then I heard that they were going towards Microsoft based products.
The problem is that there are a lot of Notes users out there that have spent “tons” of money on Crystal and they have upgraded to XI - only to find out that XI works great with one “table” BUT it doesn’t work when you try to connect in multiple “tables”.
I have worked with Crystal for years, I like the product and have pushed for it for years. Now that I have all reports on the the CE server and I am pushing reports to Management & Clients. I upgrade a year later to discover that none of the reports using Notes will work properly.
If anyone has a suggestion on how to ‘fix’ the notes connection to crystal XI with Lotus Notes please let me know. Until then I am running reports in Version 10 of Crystal

The Crystal Reports XI and Lotus Notes work fine if you use the ODBC driver with Data Sources set up. Only problem is you have to change all your reports to use the Data Sources and thus your field names and group names will change. I tested this out on the same report I was talking about above and all the connections worked fine. A few problems, it took me a long time to change my report fields and groupings and once I had this done…the report took forever to run. Whereas with the native driver it was much faster. I have a call put into tech support at Business Objects, once I hear back and get an answer, I will post it under this topic.

TAKE NOTE ALL CRYSTAL REPORTS XI DEVELOPERS - I just word back from Business Object Tech Support. Reporting for Lotus Notes is still supported except the native drivers (ps2note.dll, and crdb_ps2notes.dll) are deprecated and no longer supported. So you Crystal Reports developers take note and develop all Crystal Reports XI with the NoteSQL driver (NotesSQL 3.02 or NotesSQL 3.02g) found on this site. Therefore, I’m faced with the daunting task of converting all my reports to use the NoteSQL driver instead of the native driver which by the way is much faster.
