Creating / Modifying Tabbed Tables in a Domino application

I’m learning how to code in Notes Domino, and I was assigned a task.

In a Notes application that we have, there is a form that contains a tabbed table. I need to add an additional tab to this table that contains the same layout (i.e. columns and rows) as an existing tab in this table.

I was able to append a tab. However, when I copied the layout of the previous tab to the new tab, it did create the layout, but it also created a duplicate layout on the previous tab. When I deleted the duplicate layout from the existing tab, it also deleted the layout from the new tab.

to clarify my problem: there is an existing tabbed table in a form.

I need to modify this tabbed table by:

  1. adding an additional tab to the end of the table. currently, the tabbed table contains 3 tabs, I need to expand the table to now have 4 tabs.

  2. on the 4th tab (which is the new tab), it needs to contain the same layout (1 row, 5 columns) as tab #3.

However, when I copied the layout from tab #3 to tab #4, it did copy the layout to tab #4, but it also duplicated itself on tab #3, so now tab #3 has an additional layout.

When I deleted the duplicate layout from tab #3, it also deleted the layout from tab #4

If I understand the issue correctly what has happened is that you have pasted the layout below the actual tab making it part of the form. This would explain why it is appearing in the other tab. To verify this you can check each of your tabs and if it is shown there also, then that is the cause.

Hope that helps

I am not sure I quite understand what you are saying.

First the tabbed table ‘new tab’ was successfully created.

now on the ‘new tab’ you now want to create another table, say 3 rows by 2 columns?
