We send internal firmwide “tip” emails to a nested group (Company All). However, some indivduals want out.
I understand the best way to do this is to create an “opt-out” database. Have it programatically create the “Company All” mailing list and have it factor in the opt-out listing.
Anyone have any sample DB or code for this, or know where something like this is available for purchase.
I do have such a program, but I suspect it’s overkill for what you want. My program uses the address book and/or contact management databases to create more dynamic lists of recipients for memos, and then sends them out one by one (so no bcc or groups used).
Because of its flexibility, it is used by companies that send tons of email internally and/or externally for marketing purposes.
Here is a snippet from one of my broadcast routines:The array ‘ExcludeList’ contains the email addresses of the opt-outs
ExcludeList could be created on the fly from a collection or a hidden field that does a dbcolumn lookup to an inbox type view that users mailed/repliedto requesting opt-out.
