Creating a second administrator group with less access - is this possible?

I’m a notes administrator and I’d like to have another person help out with registrations and/or db access. Is there a way to have the 2nd person do that without putting them in the administator group? The reason I don’t want to put them in the administrator group is because I don’t want to give them full admin access to domino until training is complete.

Thanks

I guess that depends on your point of view. In the server documents, you can assign different levels of administrator access per server. However, none of these levels refer to user registration or database ACLs. Check the Admin Help for more info, or hit F1 when you’re on the security tab of the server doc.

If you’re using the CA process, you can make certain users Registration Authorities and give them rights to register new users per Certifier. Again, check the Admin help and search on registration authority.

As far as controlling db access, this is more difficult. If you use groups in your ACLS, and why wouldn’t you, you can make this “junior admin” an owner of the group and have it work that way. If you want them to control the actual DB ACLs, then you’ll need to create a group and make that group a manager of the databases they will manage. There’s no setting in the server docs to grant ACL rights to all database, other than the Full Admin access, which it doesn’t sound like you want to use.

yes,

You just define the group and populate the users. Then place the group in the access fields you wnat them to have inyour server and configuration documents.
