Question for administrators:
I have to create a customized corporate mailbox template (after upgrade server from R6.5 to R7.0.2): create 2 customized templates (1 for Notes clients - 1 for webmail clients) or create 1 customized template based on webmail for everybody?
Currently we use 2 customized corporate mailboxes templates in R6.5:
1 customized template for common client mailboxes (± 200 clients)
1 customized template for webmail enabled client mailboxes (± 20 clients)
Now I have to prepare a customized template for R7.
Can I create only one customized template according to the DWA7.ntf (Domino Web access template) and allocate it to everyone?
In this case, 180 people without webmail access will have in their mailbox the webmail design elements, which is not really useful;
but it would be easier for me to maintain just one corporate template…
As the sizes of the 2 empty standard templates (mail R7 and dwa7) are quite the same (± 17MB), I don’t think it would cause a size or performance issue if i used the dwa template for everybody…
Remark:
Currently, we use domino servers R7.0.2 and Domino R6.5 (mixed environment)
Our main internal server is upgraded from R6.5 to R7.0.2 but our SMTP gateway server is still in R6.5
Can this influence the choice of the template?
