Corporate Welcome Page

When creating a corparate Welcome Page, I succeeded in deploying that welcome page to some of my test users, but encountered the following problem.

There is no possibility to add default custom database links or Web links into the launchpad.

Those links are visible for me, but when deploying it to other users, everything is empty.

Is there a possibility to add some default links (group - dependent) into the welcome page.

Thanks in advance.

The links that you see in the launchpad are stored in a folder in your local bookmark.nsf file (not in the corporate welcome db). The current WP Deployment architecture only looks at the corporate welcome page db.

We will investigate this for a future release.

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for the quick answer. Unfortunately, I can’t see any benefit of using the corporate welcome screen, if I can’t customize the screen with default database links and/or weblinks.

the possibility of standardizing this template (or database) could be a great benefit of all Notes Administrators.

Can modifying the local bookmark template solve this problem ???

She’s only talking about the LaunchPad, not the Welcome Page in general.

Just choose a different interface vector.

I completely understood here, but if we can’t define any Database or Weblinks by default, i can’t see the benefit of using the corpate Welcome page.

My previous question, was how and if we can’t define a custom Launchpad, by customizing the local Bookmark template.

Greetings

You would have to go to the individual users’ machines and set up the launch pad on each one. No current way to deploy the folder from your local bookmark file into other users’ bookmark files.

Subject: Simple solution - if the Notes files are on a file server?

Hi there,

Interesting to read this thread - just thinking about using the Corporate Welcome Page function in R6 myself.

If you REALLY are stuck with this, and your user’s files are stored on a file server, and not local, then you can easily write script to get a handle to all names.nsf files for each user, and then do whatever you want with them. I do this for a client and it works superbly. From modifying location documents, to updating the names.nsf data or bookmark.nsf design remotely.

Note - This would only work if the users’ Notes\Data directory is up on a file server though and not on the local hard drives/PCs.

If they are on the server and you want some help with sample code, just ask.

Unfortunately, my users data directory isn’t on a file server, but always stored an the Pc. This because 60% of our users are “Remote” users. (Performance Issue).

Obviously, there is no current solution for my problem.

Thanks to all.
