I have a backup of some Notes databases from version 9 and now I’d like to open them in version 8.5.
Can I do this? how?

Answer is pretty much the same…
Subject: It’s actually pretty easy
You will need a client version that can open the database, then you just create a new database copy, but change the file extension of the target file to the version you want:
Notes 8.x .ns8
Notes 7.x .ns7
Notes 6.x .ns6
etc.
