I am testing converting a mail file (my own mile file) before converting about 100 others. It contains the standard folders plus numerous folders (some nested) that I created. The problem is that the ($Inbox) is not being upgraded, it remains in the R5 format.
I have read the threads on this site with the same problem: e.g.:
The design of the Inbox does not have the “Prohibit” flag set.
Initially I performed a:
load convert -s mail\myMail.nsf * mail6.ntf to preserve my folders, since a mix of them had the “Prohibit” flag set (there’e a post om this forum about this, but can’t find it again). But my Inbox does not have this flag and it does not get updated.
If I run a load convert mail\myMail.nsf * mail6.ntf, all my folders that do NOT have the “Prohibit” flag set, get deleted, which I don’t want.
I then do a load convert -u mail\myMail.nsf to upgrade the folders.
I tried refreshing the design, and to no avail.
I then tried another suggestion, I copied the ($Inbox) folder from the Mail6.ntf template, deleted the original ($Inbox), paste the new…but the Inbox then has too many documents than were there before.
The thought of creating a new Inbox moving all the docs to this new Inbox from the original, then deleting original, which was another suggestion, seems a potential headache for 100+ mail files.
Am I missing something fundamental?
Any comments\ suggestions would be greatly welcomed.
