Controlling actions on Notes Client

Hi,Is there any way by which we can limit what functions users are allowed to perform on a client.

Mainly we want to restrict users from deleting or modifying location and connection documents.

Thanks

Subject: Not directly, I think

You could check what happens if you deny your endusers the different roles in the ACL of their local address book. Another option: you could use policies to keep your users up to date? Although that doesn’t prohibit them from messing with the docs afterwards…

Leading on from the previous response.

By doing a bit of relatively heavy redesign of the Personal Address Book you could restrict the documents that a user can create, edit, and/or delete. Then put that template into use across your organisation; that will take care of all the newly created and installed users. ‘Fixing’ existing users will take a bit more work - you have to persuade them to carry out a ‘refresh’ of their Personal Address Book, using the new template: and to get that new template on to their client machines.

Why not ‘Train them’? It might be easier and, overall, more productive.
