Connections Installer ignores response file value for ic360 database name

When installing Connections using a response file, the value recorded for ic360 database name is not respected. It uses ESSAPPS no matter what you put in the response file. Using custom database names is supported and works for all other applications. This also get's overwritten by every CR install. Really annoying.

Hi Wannes Rams,
on which Connections version do you see the problem and how do you created that response file? Did you follow the instructions of URL:
https://opensource.hcltechsw.com/connections-doc/v8-cr4/admin/install/t_silent_install_create_response.html

to record it? How can we reproduce the problem at best? Can you please provide us detailed steps that you did?

Thanks for the clarification
with best regards
Thorsten

Hey Thorsten, yes, I followed the documented steps to create the response file. I use response files for all my installs. We use custom database names. So after creating the database for ic360 with a custom name, I change it in the response file, but the datasource get's created with the standard name, works for all other applications and databases.

For the CR updates, again response file created by the Installation Manager, same thing happens, correct database name specified in the response file, data source get's overwritten using the default ESSAPSS

Hi Thorsten
Please have a look at CS0370080, the full ICXT installer can handle custom db names since 8.0.4, so I suspect this fix did not made it to Connections.

Christoph

Hello,

Thank you all for the discussion. This is a good start, and to progress this further we'll need a support case. @Wannes Rams please open a case if you'd like to pursue.

Thank you,

I want it fixed, but not sure I have the energy to go through all the questions in a support case.
